Our constitution clearly states that the funds raised by the Friends shall be used for achieving the purposes of the charity, and not for functions that are the responsibility of the Parochial Church Council (such as maintaining or repairing the existing church building, grounds or other fabric or for organising religious events and services).
Our immediate priorities are to establish a varied programme of cultural events going forward and to provide high quality interpretation boards for the lobby in the church building which provide information about the church, the castle and the wider village.
Staging events will incur a variety of costs:
Provision of museum-quality information boards are expensive - over £500 for a single A0 free-standing display.
All of this adds up alarmingly.
At the moment you can help our fund-raising effort by buying Membership of the Friends Group which will entitle members to discounted entry to all of our ticketed events.
