Who We

Are

Our

Mission & Values

For the past few years St. James’ Church, Wigmore has been under threat of closure  but a group of local residents believe the complete loss of this Grade I listed building with a thousand years of history behind it would be unconscionable – hence, the formation of our Friends Group in the spirit of “use it or lose it”.

While there have been no regular church services held at St. James' for some years we believe a broader cultural use could be made of the venue, keeping our it open as a community resource and a heritage hub for visitors to the area.

We recognise that this is a considerable challenge as staging attractive events and providing high quality interpretive displays requires significant funding which, especially in the current economic climate, is difficult to secure.

However, we believe this is a worthwhile endeavour and we hope that you will too.

Our Trustees

Our Trustees effectively represent the management committee for our Friends Group. This team will likely be added to as our Friends Group matures.

Our Policies and Documents

Our organisation will be producing a range of necessary documentation over time and will publish them here for transparency.
